New Year New Projects

So the focus for the new year is to get the website up and running.  Fingers crossed we'll have our online store ready to go before long but it is an epic amount of work.  With 5 new ranges as well as all the vintage stock there's a lot to do, but here's a sneak peak of getting some of the stock 'graphed and photoshopped ready for Hendy Home Store Online...

The Christmas House is Open

The Christmas House opened it's doors this weekend: 135 All Saints Street is one of the most complete Tudor houses in Hastings’ old town.   Alastair Hendy, food writer and stylist has carried out a unique and extensive restoration programme over several years, taking it back to how it may have looked when first built.  This is an opportunity to experience first hand this magical home at Christmas, lit by candlelight with log fires burning, and decorated with traditional Christmas decorations.

This is also the home of Home Store Hastings’ fairytale, The Elves & The Baker and our Christmas recipes, all beautifully illustrated by photography and words in our Christmas House storybook, a copy of which will be given to each party that visit the house. All are welcome, and families with children will be encouraged to live the magic by having the story read to them by the open fire, while sat in the very house where the fairytale is set.

Come and see, and join us for a warming glass of spiced wine – you will be filled with wonder.

Christmas is coming

We are working our little socks off to get everything ready for a macabre, fairy tale Christmas at the Home Store.  All should be unveiled by the end of this week, but here are a few snippets to give you a taster of what's to come...

(this last one was today's lunch - pickled pears and French ham, completely delish).
